FACIAL MASKS

Updated: Feb 6, 2020

This was it, the night I would try the black charcoal mask. You know, the kind we’ve all seen on video that won’t come off or pulls every ounce of your soul out with it. I had.

Come on, let’s be honest with each other, you know that deep down you’ve been wanting to either try it yourself or at least be there in person when someone else did. I can admit it and when it came in my Farmasi starter kit I thought of it as a sign. So here we go, the very first use and honest review of Farmasi, the charcoal mask..... the legend.

I CAN FEEL IT TIGHTENING

I‘ve decided to write this, at least the first part of it as the mask dries on my face. Oh, I’ll start at the beginning but I want you to get the full picture of how this went down.

So, as I mentioned this charcoal mask came with my starter kit when I signed up to be a beauty influencer for Farmasi. One tube of Dr. C. Tuna Activated Charcoal Black Mask. The tube goes on to state that it’s formulated to purify the skin and pores and lord knows my 50+ years young face could use some purification!

It Looks Like Tar

And has what I’ve always imagined the consistency of liquid tar to be but, thankfully doesn’t smell like it and instead just has a very faint smell of “clean.” As I squeeze it out of the tube I‘m thankful that I decided to use my handy mask applicator instead of planning on just using my fingers because it’s fairly thick and sticky and not something I would recommend trying to apply without an applicator unless your planning on a huge mess!.

Stun Your Readers

So yeah, this isn't something to put on by hand and if you don't have an applicator then I would strongly suggest purchasing one like or similar to the one pictured.

A Farmasi Review
Farmasi Activated Charcoal Black Mask

It actually went on fairly easily once I got the hang of using the applicator.  You know that uncomfortable feeling you get as a face mask tightens up?  Yes, this one does it too but it wasn't overly uncomfortable like a few I've tried over the years that felt like they were pulling my face back behind my ears.

The directions say to allow it to dry for 20-30 minutes.  Well, I got held up on a telephone call and left it on for about 45 so I figured all should be dried.  I had two little spots that weren't totally dry but, they were spots were the mask had been a bit lumpy due to my application and not the product itself.  The rest was totally dry and I'm sure could have been removed at 20 minutes without issue.

Oh Lord The Pain!!

Kidding, kidding it really wasn't an issue like those You Tube videos you see with all the screams and dramatic sobs. Oh course, it's not the most pleasant of looks while you wait but ahh, the things we do in order to be more beautiful!  The mask peeled off effortlessly and cleanly while doing it's job of pulling out the bad stuff it was meant to without any problem.  All in all it was a simple and painless mask that left my skin cleaner than when I started pore wise and if asked, I would definitely recommend it and plan on making it part of my weekly regimen.

The only down side if you were to even call it one, would be the small black areas that it left behind in each of my many fine lines and wrinkles.  Thanks for pointing those out Mr. Mask, like I wanted that reminder?  Heh, anyway it's recommended that you wash and rinse your face after using the product anyway and the black easily came off without scrubbing.
